Project Introduction.
comprehensive program analysis and strategic support
The Sellafield Replacement Analytical Project (RAP) is a crucial component of the Sellafield Analytical Services Programme, to deliver a facility for Sellafield (SL) and the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), a facility that has the capability to meet SL’s internal customers analytical requirements through to 20408 whilst ensuring continuance of NNL’s operations.

The Problem.
In response to the request from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority for additional funding, a crucial pre-assurance step was taken. This involved the execution of a Construction Industry Institute Project Definition Rating Index (CII PDRI) Assessment. The purpose of this assessment was to instill confidence that the necessary engineering maturity had been achieved before any further funding allocation for the Sellafield Replacement Analytical Project.
Our Solution.
To meet this requirement, Movar played a pivotal role by conducting a comprehensive program analysis focused on reviewing the RAP Level 2 program. The objective was to evaluate the quality of the program, assess its alignment with the delivery strategy for the main works, and determine its feasibility for managing the RAP at a strategic Level 2 program.
The outcome of this analysis brought to light several critical areas that required attention, including the need for improved summarisation of work to appropriate levels, a more effective utilisation of milestones, and the incorporation of project interfaces into the overall strategy.
