Introduction

Movar is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chain. This encompasses slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We recognise our responsibility to uphold ethical practices and ensure that human rights are respected within our operations and among our partners. This statement outlines our steps to mitigate the risks of modern slavery and compliance to the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

In-house compliance to the Modern Slavery Act 2015

Our recruitment processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion.

We do not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

Our supply chain

Due to the nature of our business, we assess ourselves to have a low risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains. 

Our supply chains are limited, and we procure goods and services from a restricted range of suppliers.

We require all suppliers to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which mandates compliance with ethical labour practices, including but not limited to no forced or child labour, fair wages and working conditions, and respect for human rights and workplace safety.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • To embed a zero tolerance policy towards modern slavery
  • To ensure assess the modern slavery risks and prevention to Movar’s review process as an employer and procurer of goods and services, including evaluating suppliers based on labour standards and ethical practices
  • To maintain a culture of safe reporting inline with our Whistleblowing policy
  • To provide awareness training to staff on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and informing them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking
  • To ensure staff involved in procurement , recruitment and deployment of employees receive training on modern slavery and ethical employment practices and follow modern slavery procurement guidance on GOV.UK
