Movar is pleased to announce that we are supply chain partners with Mott MacDonald to provide Thames Water with innovative Digital Project Management Office (DPMO) solutions as an integral part of their upcoming Asset Management Period (AMP8) framework.
Starting in April 2025, AMP8 marks a significant milestone for the UK water sector. With an £88 billion investment (50% higher than that for AMP7) AMP8 represents the largest financial commitment since privatisation. The comprehensive framework will support Thames Water in the efficient management and delivery of its operational and regulatory targets through a combination of service packages and secondments. This partnership will be pivotal in supporting the delivery of sustainable, innovative solutions that secure the future of water for millions of people.
Thames Water is the largest UK water and wastewater service company, supplying around 2,600 million litres of tap water to nine million customers across London and the Thames Valley. Movar will be working to support Mott MacDonald in delivering multi-disciplinary services, including engineering, commercial, environmental, programme management, and asset management consultancy to implement the substantial AMP8 capital programme.
Movar’s DPMO offering will use AI, machine learning and real-time reporting to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve decision-making in managing this significant investment. Introducing a dynamic reporting system that combines data from all aspects of the upcoming project, including schedules, costs, milestones and risks.
Olli Wade - Movar Group CEO commented “DPMO has significantly transformed project management practices and has already lead to substantial improvements and efficiencies within the utilities sector. By leveraging AI-driven insights, real-time data and automated reporting, we are setting new standards in project delivery. As leaders in the establishment and delivery of DPMO solutions, Movar recently won the Global Project Controls Innovation of the Year 2024. We’re delighted to be partnering with Mott MacDonald in delivering this innovation within the AMP8 framework on behalf of Thames Water.”
